I LOVE my PSP GO! I was unsure about whether or not I would like it, but I have to say that I instantly fell in love with it.
A year or so ago I decided I would get a PSP 3000 instead of a GO because I wanted to be able to play game discs. It cost me $200 for the psp, a 4gb memory card, a movie, and a game. Then I found that I loved downloading games so much that I bought a 16gb memory stick pro duo, which cost me about $50. I loved my psp and put many hours of gameplay into it, but it was so big and bulky and game discs were a pain to carry around. I brought it places but found it hard to carry when it was so large.
I decided to sell all that I had a get a psp go with the money. So for $250, you get 16 gb of memory, plus theres a special deal from now till march of 2011 where you get 3 free games from sony for buying a psp go. Those games include littlebigplanet, socom 3 and ratchet and clank which in total cost about 80 dollars if you were to buy them separately. plus the go is only slightly larger than an iphone, and has many new cool features. One of my favorites being that you can pause any game at any time using the ps button on the face of the psp, then later return to it at any time.
One of my main concerns was if the controls would be too cramped. I do have to say that while they are cramped, it is not terrible. And at first I didnt know how much I liked the placement of the joystick, now I have to say that I love it. The controls are actually not a problem during most games. Only ones like metal gear peacewalker are a bit difficult to control, but not enough that I dislike the experience.
Another concern I had was that the games on the playstation store would be much more expensive than the hard discs at the store. I have not found this to be the case. The playstation store has competitive pricing with many top games costing only $10 or $20 bucks.
So basically, I think it comes down to your individual taste. Do you want something small and portable so you can play your games without having to lug discs around? Or would you rather have slightly more comfortable controls, a little larger screen, and a large psp to lug around with discs? personally, I have found the go to be much more my style. I just had to get on here and recommend it because I think it has been extremely underrated by consumers and reviewers.
Don't be stupid!

People don't realize that this is a horrible idea and should not proceed into the future of sony handheld systems. All we have to do as a consumer is say fu sony we're not falling for this crap, therefore don't buy the product. I'm part of the sony fan club, in fact i've had more sony products in my house than any other and it will most likely stay that way, but this psp go is just ripping off hardworking people. What i'm getting at is the umd drive and the smaller screen. The umd has been taken away and will cost you any where from 20 to 30 dollars more on each game(of course depending on the game) than it would on a used game from amazon or even a game store like gamestop. Bottom line, stick to the regular psp 3000 or 2000 and boycott this kind of avaricious endeavor that sony is experimenting with to make as much money as possible.

after using the psp go for a month i would have to say it the best psp i have used so far one issue of course is there is no umd slot but with the 16gb internal memory it holds a great amount of games music videos and pictures, i also noticed that it hardly has a lag during remote play on the ps3 system.
the image quality is about the same as the others a little improvement could have been done there but other than the problems with it there is a lot of uses for it and to those who do buy it i hope u enjoy it like i do.
psp go is tight

I bought this psp like a week ago, and let me tell you- its pretty cool that I can download psp games to my ps3 and transfer them and still have 4 downloads left for that game so you can hook up your friends or make a dollar or two of them. I like the 16gb it has so I can take it anywhere like work and not have to take a sack full of UMDs or extra memory sticks. I bought it to replace my old psp1001that died after many years of great service and game play. Its cool that you can sync a ps3 control and use it with full function. The wireless is wifi-b but who cares, I use it to check e-mails and facebook at work so I dont spend hours online on my psp and I dont look for faults on my psp like all these bad reviewers here. I love this psp its pretty tight you have to want it to truly appreciate this tiny system.
