Fun to assemble and versatile to play with...

This two-piece set is from ESB and is relatively easy to assemble and fun to play with. My six-year old did it with some help from me in about 20 minutes. The two pieces are from the Empire's Hoth attack (but I don't remember either from the movie).
The first piece is a small battle station with a gun and radar, manned by a trooper and an officer. The other piece is a sled speeder similar to the bike speeder from ROJ. Each piece was different to assemble, and keep our interest. Because they're so different, they are very versatile to play with; the two pieces play well with both our finished pieces and our box of legos.
On a related note, I would recommend introducing kids to Star Wars with ESB: less talky than NH, great beginning scenes on Hoth that catch kids' attention, classic Vadar, the intro of Yoda, the carbonite freezing, and the list goes on. ESB will hook your kids, and they can fill in the timeline afterward. This is a great piece to extend the story. The only downside is that they will be jonesin' for an AT-AT asap.

My Lego-loving son has recently discovered the original Star Wars trilogy, so he used his allowance to purchase this Snowtrooper Battle Pack. This set is essentially a collection of four minifigures - an AT-AT Driver, two Snowtroopers, and an Imperial Officer - with a few accessories.
Complexity: This was a pretty easy set to build. My son assembled the minifigures, and I put together the little battle platform and the speeder bike. Now, I've seen the Empire Strikes Back a LOT of times, and have never seen a speeder bike in that film. Why is it suddenly showing up in Hoth-themed playsets (both Lego and Kenner so far)?
Playability: The sky's the limit. Recreate scenes from the movie, or make up your own stories. My son does this, but so far his stories all involve the AT-AT Driver and Snowtroopers trading helmets...and then shooting each other.
My son absolutely loves these figures, and usually has at least one with him at all times. He's saving his money again, so maybe the LEGO Star Wars Rebel Trooper Battle Pack (8083) or LEGO Star Wars Echo Base (7749) playsets will be next.
Cool

The set it self looks cool and fun. The AT-AT driver has a new helmet it looks like its from the movie. The speeder was never in the movie, but it's fun to play with. The station is well detailed with a raidar dish & controls, for attacks there is a rocket launcher. For $11 buy this MUST-HAVE set.
Great Buy
